Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAV) Hotspots
Purpose: The purpose of this project is to analyze various public and private sector datasets (e.g., vehicle registration data, census information, industry trends) to identify locations in Pennsylvania likely to see initial market penetration of connected and automated vehicles. Using this information, the Department can target initial deployments and investments to better ensure early benefits.

Anticipated Outcomes
A final report that lays out the methodology to evaluate the likelihood of early market penetration of CV and AV technology given a specific use case. PennDOT will then utilize this methodology to access our roadway network and prioritize CAV infrastructure enhancements.
