Route 62 Bridge Replacement Project

Rt 62 bridge replacement.jpg

Project Overview

The purpose of this project is to replace the bridge that carries Route 62 over Fox Run in Jackson Township, Mercer County. The bridge is located on Route 62 a little more than a mile north of the intersection with Route 965 (Henderson Road).

The project includes the replacement of the existing concrete structure with a completely new bridge. Work will also include updated roadway approaches, drainage and shoulder backups.

Work is expected to occur during the 2024 construction season and will take approximately three to four months.

A detour will be required during construction. The proposed 21.5-mile detour route will be posted using Route 62, Interstate 79, and Route 358.

The existing bridge was built in 1922 and widened in 1961. It is rated as poor condition. Approximately 2,400 vehicles a day use the bridge, on average.
