PennDOT has lifted the temporary restrictions on certain vehicles from traveling on Interstate 80 and Interstate 180 in northcentral Pennsylvania. The vehicle restrictions reflected Tier I of the commonwealth's weather event vehicle restriction plan (PDF). PennDOT has also lifted speed and right-lane-only commercial vehicle restrictions on Interstate 80 and Interstate 180 in the region.

Motorists are advised that both lanes of Route 147 are closed between Route 3006 (Herndon Bypass Road) in Jackson Township and Route 4033 (Boyles Run Road) in Lower Augusta Township, Northumberland County, due to a downed tree and power lines.

– A four-year reconstruction project continues this week on Route 199 in Sayre and Athens, Bradford County. The 2.6-mile project is located .44 miles north of the intersection with Route 1056 (Front Street) in Athens Borough to the intersection with Interstate 17 (Southern Tier Expressway) at the New York state line in Sayre Borough. The project begins at the New York state line and works south.

Motorists are advised that both lanes of Route 15 southbound and the left (passing) lane of Route 15 northbound are closed between Route 1002 (Colonel John Kelly Drive) and Route 1005 (Hospital Drive) in Kelly Township, Union County, for an accident reconstruction.

With freezing rain forecasted for tomorrow morning, Thursday, January 19, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 3 is advising motorists in north central Pennsylvania to be aware of changing weather conditions and limit travel if possible.

On Monday, January 23 through Friday, January 27, a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) maintenance crew will be installing a stop sign on Route 125 northbound at the intersection with Upper Road, making this intersection a four-way stop. Additional work includes updating the existing placards to indicate a four-way stop. Motorists can expect the right shoulder to be restricted where work is being performed. Work will be performed between the hours of 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM, weather permitting.

The contractor will continue drainage work on Route 199 (Main Street) between Route 1064 (Pine Street) and Vanderbilt Street as well as continuing temporary paving throughout the project limits. Motorists can expect alternating lane restrictions with flagging where work is being performed.
