Contractor to replace joint seal on I-83 bridge over Market Street
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the ramp from westbound Route 462 (Market Street) to southbound I-83 near the City of York in York County will be closed tomorrow night so a joint seal on the I-83 bridge over the Market Street bridge can be replaced.
Weather permitting, this work will be performed from 9:00 PM tomorrow, Wednesday, July 10, to 6:00 AM Thursday, July 11. A detour will be in place for the ramp from westbound Route 462 (Market Street) to southbound I-83 using Belmont Street south to southbound I-83.
In the event of rain, this work will be performed during the same hours on Thursday night, July 11.
This work is in addition to ongoing bridge joint repairs and seal replacements on southbound I-83 between Market Street and George Street. Nightly right lane restrictions will be in place on southbound I-83 for the next several nights.
This work is associated with the replacement of the Eberts Lane bridge spanning Mill Creek and the construction of an additional span to the existing 3-lane, 2-span bridge on Sherman Street (Route 1033) spanning Interstate 83 and Mill Creek.
Deblin, Inc, of Mechanicsburg, PA, is the contractor on this $10,117,734 project.
