PennDOT Secretary Leslie S. Richards attended her first Cabinet in Your Community event this week, where several Wolf Administration cabinet members come together to answer questions from people in the community.

Joining Secretary Richards were Department of Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding, Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Dennis M. Davin, Department of Labor and Industry Acting Secretary Jerry Oleksiak, Department of Revenue Secretary C. Daniel Hassell, and Department of State Acting Secretary Robert Torres. Each secretary provided region-specific updates on major projects, accomplishments, and answered impromptu questions from the audience.

Richards addressed questions about how PennDOT Connects can assist rural health care service transportation, ATVs on the roads, and the importance of rail freight in Pennsylvania.

"The exceptional discussion and positive energy from our first event in Nanticoke continued in Lock Haven where many members of the community came out to engage in valuable dialogue with cabinet officials," said Governor Tom Wolf. "It's important that we continue to engage with communities across the commonwealth so that everyone has an opportunity feel connected to Harrisburg no matter where they live."

The next Cabinet in Your Community event is scheduled for January 8 in Charleroi; however, Secretary Richards will not be in attendance. She does plan to attend an event on January 16 in Bloomsburg.
