Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is
announcing the closure of Route 51 (Saw Mill Run Boulevard) between Crane
Avenue and Woodruff Street in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County will
continue through Thursday afternoon, August 29 weather permitting.
Due
to unforeseen field conditions and utility relocation work, the demolition work
on the Route 51 bridge between Crane Avenue and Woodruff Street will continue
through 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Route 51 will remain closed around-the-clock
continuously and traffic will be detoured.

Bridge
demolition work, modular block wall installation, and roadway widening will
occur at the Route 51 structure near Woodruff Street in the City of Pittsburgh.
The $3.13 million project is expected to conclude in the fall of 2024. The
long-term closure and detour for the bridge demolition work along with
intermittent short-term lane restrictions will occur. Crane Avenue and Woodruff Street will remain
open to traffic.
