Route 21 Traffic Stoppages to Occur Next Wednesday

02/23/2023

Uniontown, PA – PennDOT District 12 would like to inform motorists that multiple traffic stoppages of up to 15 minutes will occur in both directions on Route 21 at the interchange with Route 166 and Ronco Road in Masontown Borough and German Township, Fayette County. The 15-minute traffic stoppages are expected to occur between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 1, weather and operational dependent.

The stoppages will be used to allow crews to set the beams for the second phase of the new bridge.

Crews from Plum Contracting Inc. will be performing the work.

This work is part of the $8.2 million replacement of the existing structure carrying Route 21 (Roy E. Furman Highway) over Route 166 and the reconstruction of a portion of Route 166. The project also includes upgrades to the drainage, installation of a stormwater management facility, signing and pavement marking, and guiderail upgrades. The project is anticipated to be complete in Fall of 2023.
