Uniontown, PA – PennDOT District 12 would like to inform motorists that a section of Route 356 located in Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County will be closed between Route 56 (Leechburg Road) and Route 4073 (White Cloud Road) beginning Monday, March 20 through the end of November, weather and operational dependent.
The restrictions will be in place to allow crews to replace a culvert box north of Garver's Ferry Road and reconstruct Route 356 from the Allegheny Township Fire Hall to White Cloud Road.

Local traffic will be able to access Route 356 from Armstrong Road south to Route 56. Residents within the reconstruction area will also be provided ingress and egress access by the contractor. Local truck deliveries will have access between Route 28 and the Route 356 closure and should follow local signage to businesses along Route 356.
Crews from Ligonier Construction will be performing the work.
This $15.9 million project is for safety improvements on Route 356 from White Cloud Road to just north of the Route 56 intersection. Included in the project is the realignment of several intersections, milling and pavement overlays, storm water maintenance, and the replacement of four culvert boxes. The project is anticipated to be complete in November 2023.
