Routes 980 and 519 Safety Improvements Friday in Washington County

10/30/2024

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing centerline rumble strip installation scheduled for Friday, November 1, in Washington County.

Flaggers will control rolling, alternating single-lane restrictions on:

  • Route 980 (South Central Avenue) between Route 1009 (West Pike Street) in Canonsburg Borough and Route 519 (Hill Church Houston Road) in North Strabane Township
  • Route 519 between Route 1055 (Brownlee Road) and Christy Road in North Strabane Township

Greene Acres Contracting will perform the work as part of a low-cost safety improvement project (LCSIP) on state roads throughout Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland counties. The overall job includes installing delineators on concrete median barriers, guide rails, mountable curbs, and delineation posts—a $612K infrastructure investment.

All work depends on weather and operations.

Exercise caution while approaching the work zone. Remain alert and follow the posted signs and speed limits. Safety is everyone's responsibility.
