PennDOT Announces Laurel Valley Transportation Improvement Project Start-up Public Meeting Scheduled, Website Launched


Uniontown (December 17, 2015) – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Engineering District 12-0 and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), in cooperation with Westmoreland County, will conduct an Open House Public Meeting to discuss the Laurel Valley Transportation Improvement Project (LVTIP) in Unity and Mount Pleasant Townships, Westmoreland County. The LVTIP will consider improvements on or near the existing alignment of Route 981. The Study Area extends from the north at Route 30 near the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport to the south at the Route 819/Route 981 intersection in Mount Pleasant.
The public open house is scheduled as part of the initial Feasibility Study phase of the LVTIP to introduce and receive feedback on draft improvement concepts for the study corridor.  The public meeting is scheduled as follows:
