​Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised a two-year construction project continues on Route 6 and Main Street (Route 2005) in Tioga County.

The Week of Monday, August 12
The contractor will continue rehabilitation work on the bridge that carries Route 6 over the Tioga River. Work includes repair of the sub-structure, deck repairs, and epoxy overlay.

Long-Term Detour is Lifted
Route 6 is now open to westbound traffic at the intersection of Main Street. Motorists can expect single lane conditions with flagging during daylight hours.

Business District
Utility relocation and drainage improvements will continue this week on Route 6 between North Academy Street and Railroad, on North Main Street between East Elmira Street (Route 1002), and on Decker Street (Route 1003) and South Main Street between East Wellsboro Street to Fourth Street.

The contractor will also continue work on the ADA ramps throughout the business district. Work will be performed between the hours of 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM. There will be minimal impact to traffic while work is being performed at these locations.

Glenn O. Hawbaker is the prime contractor for this $7.2 million construction project of Route 6 and Main Street. Work on this project includes milling and resurfacing 0.5 miles of Route 6 between the Tioga River and Swan Street in Mansfield Borough and 3.8 miles of Main Street between Decker Street in Richmond Township and East Main Street in Mansfield Borough. Additional work includes drainage improvements, utility relocations, construction of ADA ramps, and rehabilitation and deck preservation of the bridge that carries Route 6 over the Tioga River in Mansfield Borough. Work on this project is anticipated to be completed in 2025 and includes a winter shut down.
