King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that ramp construction will continue next weekend on U.S. 1 at the Neshaminy Exit under a project to reconstruct, widen and improve a three-mile section of U.S. 1 in Bensalem and Middletown townships, Bucks County. 

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

• From 8:00 PM Friday, May 19, to 6:00 AM Monday, May 22, the ramp from southbound U.S. 1 to Rockhill Drive at the Neshaminy Exit will be closed for reconstruction. Motorists will be detoured south on U.S. 1, west on Street Road (Route 132), then north on Old Lincoln Highway to access Rockhill Drive. (The ramp to southbound U.S. 1 at the Neshaminy Exit has been closed for reconstruction since fall 2022).

Motorists are reminded that tonight, May 11, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, northbound U.S. 1 will be reduced to a single lane between the Neshaminy and Penndel/Business U.S 1 exits to allow crews to set a new traffic pattern at the ramp to Penndel/Business U.S. 1. 

The new pattern will shift off-ramp traffic onto a temporary ramp while the new permanent ramp is built.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near these work areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change.

PennDOT is reconstructing and widening U.S. 1, improving the interchanges, and constructing new bridges from the Turnpike Interchange in Bensalem Township to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 in Middletown Township under the $113.5 million Section RC2 contract.
