Resurfacing Operations Scheduled Next Week on U.S. 1 (Kennett-Oxford Bypass) and Other State Highways in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery Counties

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing is scheduled on U.S. 1 (Kennett-Oxford Bypass) and other state highways in Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties, under several projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia Region.

The work schedules and locations are:
Chester County

  • Wednesday, June 7, through Friday, June 9, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on U.S. 1 (Kennett-Oxford Bypass) between the U.S. 1 (Kennett-Oxford Bypass) bridge over branch of Tweed Creek and the Maryland State line in West Nottingham and East Nottingham townships for milling and paving; and
  • Thursday, June 8, and Friday, June 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on U.S. 1 (Kennett-Oxford Bypass) between the U.S. 1 (Kennett-Oxford Bypass) bridge over branch of Tweed Creek and the Maryland State line in West Nottingham and East Nottingham townships for leveling operations.

Delaware County

  • Wednesday, June 7, through Friday, June 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled at the Springfield Road and the Brookside Road Intersection in Springfield Township for inlet repair.

Montgomery County

  • Sunday, June 4, from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 23 (Fourth Street/River Road/Front Street) between U.S. 202 (Dekalb Street) and Matsonford Road/Fayette Street in Bridgeport and West Conshohocken boroughs for milling and paving;
  • Sunday, June 4, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Linfield Trappe Road between Lewis Road and Township Line Road in Limerick Township for milling and paving;
  • Sunday, June 4, from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, and Monday, June 5, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Armand Hammer Boulevard between Industrial Highway and High Street in Pottstown Borough and Lower Pottsgrove Township for milling and paving;
  • Monday, June 5, through Friday, June 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 23 (Fourth Street/River Road/Front Street) between U.S, 202 (Dekalb Street) and Matsonford Road/Fayette Street in Bridgeport and West Conshohocken boroughs for utility adjustments and milling and paving;
  • Monday, June 5, through Friday, June 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Armand Hammer Boulevard between Industrial Highway and High Street in Pottstown Borough and Lower Pottsgrove Township for utility adjustments and base repair; and
  • Monday, June 5, from Friday, June 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Linfield Trappe Road between Lewis Road and Township Line Road in Limerick Township for utility adjustments milling and paving.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these resurfacing projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surfaces and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
