Construction Activities Scheduled Next Week on I-95 and Other State Highways in Philadelphia, Chester, Montgomery Counties

King of Prussia PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that various construction activities are scheduled on Interstate 95 and other state highways in Philadelphia, Chester, and Montgomery counties.

The work schedules and locations are:

Philadelphia

  • Monday, June 5, from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 at the Aramingo Avenue/Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange for bridge inspection;
  • Monday, June 5, through Thursday, June 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic lane closures are scheduled on in both directions on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between Adams Avenue and Summerdale Avenue for intersection improvements;
  • Monday, June 5, through Thursday, June 8, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, alternating lane closures are scheduled on 26th Street between the Interstate 76 Interchange and Penrose Avenue for high friction surface treatment; and
  • Tuesday, June 6, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a partial lane closure is scheduled on the westbound I-76 ramp to eastbound Interstate 676 for bridge inspection.

Chester County

  • Monday, June 5, through Thursday, June 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Route 282 (Creek Road) between Route 82 (Manor Road) and Norwood Road in West Nantmeal, Wallace, East Brandywine, Caln, and East Caln townships and Downingtown Borough for shoulder cutting.

Montgomery County

  • Monday, June 5, and Tuesday, June 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled on southbound Interstate 476 between the Norristown and the I-76 interchanges in West Conshohocken Borough and Plymouth Township for bridge inspection;
  • Monday, June 5, through Friday, June 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 113 (Main Street) between Summit Street and Green Street in Souderton Borough for ADA curb replacement; and
  • Wednesday, June 7, and Thursday, June 8, from 9:00 Am to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled on northbound I-476 between the Norristown and the I-76 interchanges in West Conshohocken Borough and Plymouth Township for bridge inspection.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

These construction activities are part of PennDOT's program to ensure the safety and overall condition of our state highways.
