03/24/2023

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a pavement preservation project is scheduled to begin on Route 230 (Cameron Street/Front Street) in Dauphin County. The project limits extend from Sycamore Street in the City of Harrisburg to Chambers Street in Steelton Borough.

Weather permitting, work will begin on Monday, April 3. There will be lane restrictions with flaggers providing traffic control during daytime hours.

Work includes milling, base repairs, paving, minor drainage work, sign updates, new pavement markings, and other miscellaneous construction items. New ADA ramps will be constructed at the intersections of Route 230 and Franklin, Eleanor, Conestoga and Swatara streets.

Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to slow down when approaching and traveling through work zones for their safety as well as for the safety of the road crews.

New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company, Inc., of New Enterprise, PA, is the prime contractor on this $2,149,770 project. Work is expected to be completed by August 24, 2023.
