Bridge Rehab Project to Begin on Little Buffalo Road (Route 4010) in Perry County

Bridge spans Little Buffalo Creek at Little Buffalo State Park

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a bridge rehabilitation project on Little Buffalo Road in Perry County is scheduled to begin. The bridge spans Little Buffalo Creek on the west end of Little Buffalo State Park in Centre and Juniata townships.

Weather permitting, work will begin Thursday, June 15. The bridge will be closed and a detour will be in place using Cold Storage Road (Route 4005), Middle Ridge Road (Route 4008) and Gill Hill Road (Route 1011). 

This project consists of the rehabilitation of an existing single-span steel bridge with prestressed concrete spread box beams along with abutment repairs, minor approach reconstruction, traffic signing and paint, and other miscellaneous construction.

Work is expected to be completed by October 19, 2023.

Redrock Construction, Inc., of Lewistown, PA, is the contractor on this $623,508 project.
