Rolling stops for beam setting planned for tonight cancelled
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that there will be nighttime lane restrictions next week on eastbound Route 30 at the Centerville Road Interchange in E. Hempfield Township. These traffic restrictions will be in place to allow a contractor to place deck forms on the new Centerville Road bridge spanning the highway.
Rolling stops for beam setting scheduled for tonight on westbound Route 30 have been cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date.
Weather permitting, there will be lane restrictions on eastbound Route 30 from 8:00 PM to 4:00 AM Monday night, June 5, through Thursday night, June 8. Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.
This work is part of the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement project, which consists of structure replacement, Superpave overlay, base replacement, roadway widening, milling, guiderail improvements, drainage improvements, pavement markings, ADA improvements, traffic signal improvements, and other miscellaneous construction. The project includes work on Centerville Road from Cornerstone Drive to Marietta Avenue (Route 23), and Marietta Avenue from Centerville Road to Stony Battery Road.
JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA is the prime contractor on this $36.3 million project. Work is expected to be completed by July 22, 2025.
