The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today milling operations will start Monday, July 29, 2024, on Route 865 and Route 4043 (Tipton Road) in Bellwood Township, Blair County in preparation for paving work expected to begin in August.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that Hardin Industrial Services LLC., of Mariana Florida, will perform open air blasting at American Eagle Paper Mill at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Tyrone, Blair County on Saturday morning, July 27, 2024. The work to implode a chimney at the mill will begin at 10:55 AM and will conclude at 11:05 AM.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that its Clearfield County maintenance forces will continue surface treatment operations, more commonly known as “oil and chip,” on several routes the week of July 29. This maintenance treatment seals the road surface to keep water out, restores the friction of the surface to enhance traction, and extends the service life of the pavement between resurfacings.

A four-year reconstruction project continues next week on Route 199 in Sayre and Athens, Bradford County. The 2.6-mile project is located .44 miles north of the intersection with Route 1056 (Front Street) in Athens Borough to the intersection with Interstate 17 (Southern Tier Expressway) at the New York state line in Sayre Borough. The project begins at the New York state line and works south.
