Project Overview

The Freedom Road Project is an ongoing project to improve Freedom Road in Butler and Beaver Counties. This section of the project includes the roadway located between Haine School Road and Commonwealth Drive in Cranberry Township, Butler County. The roadway will be realigned and new turning lanes will be added as well as other safety improvements.

This project is a direct continuation of the Freedom Road Turnpike Bridge project which replaced the existing structure over I-76. As part of the accelerated bridge construction program, the structure was constructed in sections off-site and moved into final position requiring only short-term closures on the PA Turnpike or Freedom Road. Minor finishing work is still being completed on this project.
