Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is
announcing sawing and sealing operations on several I-79 interchange ramps in
Allegheny County will occur Friday and Saturday nights, September 8-9 weather
permitting.
The following ramps
will close to traffic for sawing and sealing operations from 7 p.m. Friday to
11 a.m. Saturday and 5 p.m. Saturday to 11 a.m. Sunday:
Northbound Route 65 to
southbound I-79
Southbound Route 65 to
southbound I-79
Kilbuck Street/Deer Run Road to
southbound I-79

Only one ramp will
close at a time. Ramp traffic will be detoured during the work. Closures
utilizing Mt. Nebo Road to southbound I-79 as a detour route will not be
impacted until Saturday night.

Details will be provided in advance of work.
The work is part of
the $26.49 million I-79 improvement project. Improvements include four bridge
deck replacements, one bridge preservation, milling and resurfacing,
preservation work on seven sign structures, installation of five new ITS signs,
guide rail improvements, signage updates, and pavement marking installation.
The majority of the project will conclude in early 2024.
The prime contractor
is the Joseph B. Fay Company. Work on this project will be coordinated with
other projects in the area.
