Route 30 E. Pittsburgh Street Nightly Lane Restrictions and Rolling Stoppages in Westmoreland County

04/26/2023

Uniontown, PA – PennDOT District 12 would like to inform motorists of nightly single-lane restrictions and rolling stoppages on Route 30 (E. Pittsburgh Street) in Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County. Traffic impacts will begin on Thursday, April 27 and are anticipated to continue through mid‑May, weather and operational dependent.

Overnight single-lane restrictions and rolling stoppages will occur during the following days and times from April 27 through mid‑May.

  • Monday through Thursday from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM

  • Friday through Sunday from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM

The single-lane restrictions and rolling stoppages will be in place to allow crews to remove concrete and beams from the Route 3030 (E. Pittsburgh Street) bridge over Route 30. Motorists are asked to use caution while driving through the work zone.

Crews from Charles J. Merlo, Inc. will be performing the work during nighttime hours.

This work is part of a $7.6 million project involving the replacement of the Route 3030 over Route 30 bridge and includes a new two-lane single span concrete adjacent box beam bridge, realignment of the existing roadway on and off the new bridge with new asphalt pavement along with signage, guiderail, and drainage upgrades. The project is anticipated to be completed in May 2024.
