Route 113 & Minsi Trail Roundabout Project

Project Location

Overview

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) held a virtual public meeting on January 12, 2023 to provide an update and to obtain feedback on the proposed project to improve safety at the intersection of Route 113 and Minsi Trail in Hilltown Township, Bucks County.

This intersection improvement project will convert the existing Route 113 (Souderton Road) and Minsi Trail Intersection, located in Hilltown Township, Bucks County, into a modern roundabout. This project includes reconstruction of the intersection, relocation of conflicting utility facilities, new drainage facilities, and improved highway lighting. To tie the approach roadway into the new roundabout, 150’ to 300’ of approach work is anticipated for each leg of the intersection to replace/install guide rail and provide embankment grading.

The purpose of the project is to improve safety and mobility through the intersection and to reduce angle and rear-end crashes and injury crashes. This intersection is on PennDOT's Highway Safety Network Screening (HSNS) Urban Intersection list as one of the top candidates for the Statewide Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP).

Construction bids on this project are expected to open in spring 2025.
