Kennett Square Borough Utility Improvement to Close Route 82 (South Street) in Chester County

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that Kennett Square Borough will be performing utility improvements on Route 82 (South Street) in Kennett Square Borough, Chester County. 

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
  • Sunday, October 29, through Tuesday, October 31, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, Route 82 (South Street) will be closed between Broad Street and Route 82 (Union Street). During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Cypress Street, Broad Street, Mulberry Street, Center Street, Route 82 (South Street), Lafayette Street, and Scarlett Avenue; and
  • Wednesday, November 1, through Friday, November 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Route 82 (South Street) will be closed between Broad Street and Walnut Street. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Birch Street, Broad Street, Route 82 (South Street), Taylor Street, Chestnut Street, and Hornblende Avenue. 
Local access will be maintained up to the work zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Kennett Square Borough will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
