11/02/2023

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a new road carrying southbound Ship Road (Ship Road Couplet) will open to traffic next week under a local improvement project in West Whiteland Township, Chester County.

Beginning Tuesday, November 7, the new southbound Ship Road (Ship Road Couplet) will open from just south of Swedesford Road at the Chester Valley Trail through the Business U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway) to just north of the U.S. 30 Bypass.

Once the new roadway opens, southbound Ship Road motorists will be diverted to the right onto a new lane immediately after crossing the Chester Valley Trail, while northbound Ship Road traffic will continue to use the existing Ship Road.
