Route 32 (River Road) Bridge over Delaware Canal Closed in Tinicum Township, Bucks County

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that Route 32 (River Road) bridge over Delaware Canal in Tinicum Township, Bucks County, was closed today after a bridge inspection determined structural damage due to recent vehicular crashes.

During the closure, Route 32 (River Road) motorists will be directed to use Route 611 (Easton Road), Deep Run Road, Route 413 (Old Easton Road), and Dark Hollow Road.

The structure will remain closed until PennDOT's contractor can perform the necessary repairs and safely reopen the bridge.

Built in 1932, the 46-foot-long, 20-foot-wide, steel, stone masonry bridge carries approximately 2,608 vehicles per day.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions, by visiting 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
