The State Transportation Commission (STC), the State Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC), and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) are excited to announce the availability of Pennsylvania's 2023 Transportation Performance Report (TPR). The TPR is updated every two years, evaluates the transportation system performance, and features opportunities to guide investment choices in the areas of safety, mobility, preservation, accountability, funding, and freight. The 2023 TPR was adopted on Wednesday, February 22, 2023.

The approval of the TPR signifies the official launch of the 2025 12-Year Program (TYP) Public Comment Period, which begins on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, and continues through Sunday, April 30, 2023. The TYP is Pennsylvania's official mid-range planning tool and lists statewide planned projects and assigns funding to projects over 12 years. The first-four years comprise the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) and regional Transportation Improvement Programs (TIPs). TYP Performance Report Feb 2023 (002).jpg

The public may provide input through the Transportation Survey and the upcoming Online Public Forum. The Public Forum will be conducted virtually and is scheduled for Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The public comment period unofficially began with a pilot of 'pop-up' in-person events to encourage diverse public involvement by attending the 2023 Pennsylvania Farm Show and Pennsylvania Auto Show. Participation at these events netted over 5,383 individual-educational interactions with the public and 567 completed surveys. An informational banner and rack cards were used as promotional tools.
