Warren Roundabout Project Advancing to Stage 4; Intersection to Be Opened to All Traffic Next Week

09/08/2023

Work on the single-lane roundabout at Market Street (Route 1017), Pennsylvania Avenue (Route 6006), and Water Street in the City of Warren, Warren County is expected to move into the fourth and final stage of work next week.

On Wednesday, September 13, 2023, motorists should be alert for temporary lane restrictions and flaggers at the intersection as paving work is completed on the last portion of the roundabout.

Following the completion of that work the roundabout will be fully open to all traffic.

Drivers should be alert as they approach the intersection and the ongoing work zone areas. PennDOT also reminds motorists to yield to vehicles already in the circle, never stop inside a roundabout, and use their signal before exiting the circle.

The project is expected to move into stage 4 on September 14, 2023. This stage will include final updates to street lighting, as well as landscaping and other finishing work. This work, which is expected to take approximately four weeks to complete, will require short-term lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers.

In addition to the roundabout, the project includes sidewalk and crosswalks, truck aprons, and updated lighting and drainage work. Information on the Market Street Roundabout construction project or roundabout safety can be found on at www.penndot.pa.gov/District1.

PennDOT urges motorists to slow down when driving in work zones, and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.
