Ramp Closures Beginning for Phase 2 of Bridge Rehabilitation on U.S. Route 422 over Two Lick Creek in Indiana County

Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 10 is announcing the closure of two ramps for the second phase of the bridge rehabilitation project on U.S. Route 422 over Two Lick Creek in White Township, Indiana County.

Phase 1 work included sub-structure repairs, half of a new concrete deck along with new barrier and roadway approach work.

Phase 2 will consist of installing the remaining section of the new concrete deck and barrier.  Work begins September 15 and continue through mid-January 2024.

The U.S. Route 119 North Punxsutawney Exit from U.S. Route 422 Westbound will be closed. To detour, motorists travelling U.S. Route 422 Westbound should use Exit A 119 South Blairsville to U.S. Route 119 Southbound, then take Exit A 422 East Ebensburg onto U.S. Route 422 Eastbound and proceed to Exit B 119 North Punxsutawney.

The U.S. Route 422 East on-ramp from U.S. Route 119 North will also be closed. Motorists travelling on U.S. Route 119 North should take Exit B Kittanning U.S. Route 422 West to Exit A Blairsville U.S. Route 119 South to Exit A Ebensburg U.S. Route 422 East.

This project consists of the bridge rehabilitation, which includes deck and bearing replacements and painting of the existing steel structures carrying U.S. Route 422 eastbound and westbound over Two Lick Creek.  Work is weather dependent.

Contractor, Palo Construction of Clarion, PA will be constructing this $9 million project with a projected completion date in 2024.
