09/25/2023

Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is alerting motorists to a closure for Davis Road as the construction of a new roadway alignment and connection to State Route 228 begins.

From October 2 through 16, Davis Road will be closed from Forsythe Road to State Route 228 and a detour will be in place. Access to Davis Road will be limited to local residents only from State Route 228 to Forsythe Road.

To access State Route 228 from Davis Road, traffic will be routed to Forsythe Road, onto Harbison Road then onto State Route 228.

This $26.5 million safety improvement project is anticipated to be completed in January 2025 by Independence Excavating of Independence, Ohio.  The project is a major roadway realignment project involving the addition of a travel lane in each direction and a center turn lane. It also includes the construction of four new structures, realigned local road connections, and a new signalized intersection at State Route 228 and Parks Road.
