04/05/2024

Indiana, PA – PennDOT is announcing that multiple traffic controls will be going into place at the Goheenville Safety Improvement Project in Boggs and Wayne Townships, Armstrong County, beginning April 9, 2024.

April 9 through 19, the contractor will begin working on embankments and paving at the intersection of West Caldwell Road and Route 28/66 for the temporary roadway section needed to move traffic onto the newly constructed pavement from West Caldwell to the southern side of the project.

During this portion of the project, multiple traffic controls will be in place as follows:

  • West Caldwell will be closed at the intersection of Route 28/66 at West Caldwell Road.  The detour route is Powell Road to Houser Road to Ridge Road to Route 28/66.
  • Daylight lane closures are expected on Route 28/66 from April 9 through 12.
  • 24-hour flagging to direct traffic is expected on Route 28/66 from April 15 through 19.

The project includes roadway realignment, bridge/culvert replacements, the continuation of a truck climbing lane, and the addition of turning lanes at intersecting roads on State Route 28 in Boggs and Wayne Townships from approximately two miles north of State Route 1018 to approximately six miles south of State Route 1004.
