Goheenville Safety Improvement Project Continues with Beam Setting over Laurel Run Creek in Armstrong County

05/09/2024

Indiana, PA – PennDOT is announcing that 24-hour traffic controls will be going into place at the Goheenville Safety Improvement Project in Boggs and Wayne Townships, Armstrong County as beams are placed for the new bridge over Laurel Run Creek.

May 14 through 17, 24-hour flagging will be in effect through the entire work zone.  The northbound lane on Route 28 will be closed due to the location of the crane pad for the beam erection.  Traffic will use the temporary road to travel past the crane.

The project includes roadway realignment, bridge/culvert replacements, the continuation of a truck climbing lane, and the addition of turning lanes at intersecting roads on State Route 28 in Boggs and Wayne Townships from approximately two miles north of State Route 1018 to approximately six miles south of State Route 1004.

Contractor, Mascaro Contracting, L.P. of Pittsburgh, PA, will be completing this $16.6 million safety improvement project that will conclude in late November 2024.
