Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is
advising motorists that overnight line painting operations on Route 885 (Bates
Street, Second Avenue, Irvine Street) in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny
County will begin Monday night, April 17 weather permitting.
Line painting
operations will occur weeknights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through late May.
Single-lane restrictions with flaggers will occur during this mobile operation.
Additionally, the
westbound (inbound) I-376 Parkway East ramp to South 885 Glenwood (Exit 73A)
and the ramp from Bates Street to eastbound (outbound) I-376 Parkway East will
have intermittent overnight closures.
Additional details will be provided in advance of the ramp closures.
Roadway line painting
is an important part of PennDOT’s highway safety initiatives. Paint lines
provide direction, delineation, and guidance to motorists.
Motorists should use
caution and be aware of changing traffic patterns when driving through the
area.
