Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is
announcing utility work requiring the closure of the southbound Route 28 ramp
to the 40th Street Bridge in the City
of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County continues Friday night, May 19 weather
permitting.
The
ramp that carries traffic from southbound Route 28 to the 40th Street Bridge will close to traffic
nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. through early June. Crews will conduct repair work to a 60- inch
water main. Traffic will be detoured.

past the closed ramp
Take 31st Street Bridge/Strip District
(Exit 2) off-ramp
Turn left onto the 31st Bridge at the traffic light
Turn left onto the ramp to
northbound Route 28
From northbound Route 28, take
the left-hand off-ramp to 40th Street Bridge/Lawrenceville (Exit 3A)
Turn right onto the 40th Street Bridge
End detour
Additionally,
a single-lane restriction will occur in the northbound direction on the 40th Street Bridge from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
nightly through early June.
