Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is
announcing ramp paving at the I-79 Slippery Rock/Route 108 interchange in Plain
Grove Township, Lawrence County will occur tonight, Tuesday, June 20, weather
permitting.
Overnight paving
operations will occur from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. at the I-79 Slippery Rock/Route 108
(Exit 105) interchange requiring ramps to close to traffic according to the
following schedule:
The Route 108 ramp to
northbound I-79 will close to traffic at approximately 6 p.m.
Once paving is complete, the
ramp will reopen and work will begin on the southbound I-79 ramp to Route
108.
The contractor
anticipates all work to be completed by 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 21. However,
additional overnight ramp closures may be needed through Saturday, June 24.
Additional details will be provided in advance of any ramp closure.

This work is part of
the $11.62 million project along I-79 from Butler County to Mercer County. Work
includes milling and resurfacing, base repair work, rest area improvements,
guide rail upgrades, drainage improvements, minor structure repairs and other
miscellaneous construction work. Short and long-term single-lane restrictions,
as well as rest area closures are anticipated. The project is expected to
conclude summer 2024. Lindy Paving, Inc. is the prime contractor.
