Route 201 Bridge Over Interstate 70 to Close in Westmoreland County - Multiple Detours and Traffic Impacts Can Be Expected

03/20/2023

Uniontown, PA – PennDOT District 12 would like to inform motorists the Route 201 Bridge over Interstate 70 located in Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County, will close in both directions with posted detours in place beginning Monday, April 3 through early May, weather and operational dependent.

Intermittent single-lane restrictions and rolling stoppages began Thursday, March 2 and are anticipated to continue through early June, weather and operational dependent.

  • Overnight single-lane restrictions will occur, as needed, in both directions on Interstate 70 between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

  • Overnight rolling stoppages lasting up to 30 minutes will occur, as needed, in both directions on Interstate 70 between 12:00 AM and 4:00 AM.

To accommodate traffic during the Route 201 bridge closure it is necessary to close the westbound Interstate 70 off-ramp at Exit 44 (Arnold City). In addition, traffic will be reduced to a single lane with northbound traffic only across the Route 3011 Bridge (Indian Hill Road).

The bridge closure, rolling stoppages, and single-lane restrictions are necessary to allow crews to raise and repair the Route 201 Bridge over Interstate 70. Temporary traffic signals will be in place to aid in the flow of traffic along posted detour routes.
