Route 259 Coal Pit Road Closure to Begin Next Week in Westmoreland County

​Uniontown, PA – PennDOT District 12 would like to inform motorists of the closure on Route 259 (Coal Pit Road) between Austraw Road and McCurdy Trail in Ligonier Township, Westmoreland County. Work will begin on Monday, June 26 and continue through early August, weather and operational dependent.

The closure will be in place to allow crews to replace a pipe and reestablish the road surface.

Posted Detours:

  • Northbound Route 259 will utilize Route 30, Route 711, Wilpen Road, and Marieta Road

  • Southbound Route 259 will utilize Route 259, Knupps Road, Route 711, and Route 30

 Crews from PennDOT District 12 will be performing the work.
