Uniontown, PA – PennDOT District 12 would like to inform motorists of intermittent overnight stoppages in both directions on Route 30 in the vicinity of the Route 3030 (E. Pittsburgh Street) bridge over Route 30 in Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County. Beginning Monday, September 25, overnight stoppages will occur, as needed, between 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Monday through Saturday, through October 6, weather and operational dependent.
The nighttime intermittent stoppages of 15 minutes or less will be in place to allow crews to perform the demolition of the Route 3030 (E. Pittsburgh Street) bridge over Route 30. Motorists are asked to use caution while driving through the work zone.
Crews from Charles J. Merlo, Inc. will be performing the work during nighttime hours.
This work is part of a $7.6 million project involving the replacement of the Route 3030 over Route 30 bridge and includes a new two-lane single span concrete adjacent box beam bridge, realignment of the existing roadway on and off the new bridge with new asphalt pavement along with signage, guiderail, and drainage upgrades. The project is anticipated to be completed in May 2024.
