Routes 40/119 George C. Marshall Parkway Guiderail Work Begins Monday Morning in Fayette County

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing that guiderail installation work is scheduled to begin Monday morning, March 18 on Routes 40 and 119 (George C. Marshall Parkway) in Fayette County.

On weekdays only – single-lane restrictions will be in place from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and shoulder closures from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM on segments of:

  • Westbound Route 40/northbound Route 119 between Route 2031 (Dixon Boulevard) and Route 3009 (Walnut Hill Road) in South Union Township.
  • Southbound Route 119 between Route 1063 (Bethelboro Road) and Route 1051 (Bute Road) in North Union Township.

Crews from Power Contracting Company will be installing guiderail sub-base, guiderail, underground conduits, and structure foundations – an $8 million investment – as part of a Pennsylvania Turnpike project.

The traffic impacts are anticipated through late April, depending on weather and operations.

Remain alert and follow the posted signs and speed limits. Safety is everyone's responsibility.
