FINALIZED TRAFFIC ALERT: Route 40 Reopened in Fayette County


Uniontown, PAPennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is advising motorists that Route 40 has reopened. Both directions of Route 40 were closed earlier between the intersection of Route 381 (Elliotsville Road/Farmington Ohiopyle Road) and the intersection of Dinner Bell 5 Forks Road and Dinner Bell Ohiopyle Road in Wharton Township, Fayette County due to a crash.  

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 


511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
