PennDOT's Fayette County Maintenance Update -- Week of April 29, 2024

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of April 29, 2024. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Boom mowing:

  • Route 166 (Republic Road) in German Township. 

Bridge flushing:

  • Various routes in Franklin, Jefferson, and Perry townships. 

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 1019 (Breakiron Road) in Bullskin Township.
    • ​Closure and detour in place.

Seal coat:

  • Route 1025 (Country Club Road) in Bullskin Township.
  • Route 1027 (Richey Road) in Bullskin Township.
  • Route 1042 (King View Road) in Bullskin/Upper Tyrone townships.
  • Route 1044 (Oremine Hill Road) in Bullskin Township.
  • Route 1046 (Country Club Lane) in Bullskin Township. 

Shoulder cutting:

  • Route 3002 (Gans Road) in Springhill Township.
  • Route 3003 (Tom Cat Hollow Road) in Springhill/Nicholson townships. 

Shoulder repair:

  • Route 1055 (Dunbar/Ohiopyle Road) in Ohiopyle/Stewart townships.
  • Route 2012 (Sugar Loaf Road) in Ohiopyle/Stewart townships.

Sign replacement:

  • Various routes countywide. 

Sweeping:

  • Route 40 (National Pike) in South Union Township. 

Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the County.
PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern.  This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways.  The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623).  

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
