Route 21 Roy E. Furman Highway Restrictions Continue Tuesday in Greene County

05/24/2024

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 announcing that single-lane restrictions on Route 21 (Roy E. Furman Highway) are scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 28, between Murtha Drive in Franklin Township and Route 2026 (Rolling Meadows Road) in Jefferson Township, Greene County.

Flagging will be place Mondays through Fridays from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM and/or overnights from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Additional daylight operations with flagging are possible on Saturdays from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. All work depends on weather and operations.

These restrictions are anticipated through early July to allow crews from Gulisek Construction to patch concrete, repair pavements and inlets, and install new guiderail.

With flagging operations in place, motorists are asked to use caution while driving through the work zone and allow extra travel time. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

This work is part of the $4.9 million Route 21 East of Waynesburg concrete patching project. The full scope includes concrete patching, dowel retrofit, cross stitching, spall and mountable curb repair, milling and resurfacing, high friction surface treatment, inlet tops replacement, guide rail, signal upgrades, delineation, and signing. The full job – which will require long-term single-lane restrictions – is anticipated to continue through October 2024.

Exercise caution while approaching the work zone. Remain alert and follow the posted signs and speed limits. Safety is everyone's responsibility.
