PennDOT's Fayette County Maintenance Update -- Week of May 27, 2024

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of May 27, 2024. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Bridge flushing:

  • Various routes countywide.

 ​Bridge replacement:

  • Route 1019 (Breakiron Road) in Bullskin Township.
    • Closure and detour in place.
​​Brushing:
  • Route 4036 (Newell Road) in Jefferson Township.

 Seal coating:

  • Route 1003 (Millertown Road) in Saltlick Township.
  • Route 1011 (Grandview Road) in Bullskin Township.
  • Route 1054 (Indianhead Road) in Saltlick Township.
  • Route 1058 (County Line Road) in Bullskin Township.
  • Route 1060 (Pritts Distillery Road) in Saltlick Township.
  • Route 1064 (Mt. Top Road) in Bullskin Township.

 Shoulder cutting:

  • Route 119 (Morgantown Road) in Springhill Township.
  • Route 3003 (Tom Cat Hollow Road) in Springhill Township.
  • Route 3009 (Old Frame Road) in Nicholson Township.

 Sweeping:

  • Route 21 (McClellandtown Road) in German and South Union townships.

 Sign replacement:

  • Various routes countywide.

Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the County.

PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern.  This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways.  The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623).  

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
