PennDOT's Washington County Maintenance Update -- Week of May 27, 2024

Uniontown, PA – Washington County Maintenance Manager Susan Howard announced the following tentative work plan for the week of May 27, 2024. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Base repair:

  • Route 18 (Prosperity Pike) in Morris Township.
  • Route 231 (East Finley Drive) in East Finley Township.
  • Route 3037 (West Finley Road) in West Finley Township. 

Crack sealing:

  • Route 18 (Burgettstown Road) in Hanover, Mount Pleasant and Smith townships and Burgettstown Borough. 

Debris removal:

  • Route 40 (Main Street) in West Pike Run Township and Centerville and West Brownsville boroughs.
  • Interstate 70 in Fallowfield and Somerset townships and Speers and Twilight boroughs. 

Inlet repair/cleaning:

  • Route 231 (East Finley Drive) in East Finley Township. 

Milling:

  • Route 837 (Main Street) in the Monongahela City. 

Mowing:

  • Route 22 Ramp 8046 in Hanover Township.
  • Interstate 70 Ramp 8014 (Jefferson Avenue) in the Washington City.
  • Route 221 (Chestnut Street Extension) in Buffalo Township.
  • Route 519 Park and Ride Ramp 9501 in North Strabane Township.
  • Route 837 Ramp 8025 in Donora Borough. 

Shoulder cutting:

  • Route 18 (Prosperity Pike) in Morris, North Franklin and South Franklin townships and Washington City.
  • Route 2020 (Plumsock Road) in Amwell, Morris and West Bethlehem townships.
  • Route 3013 (Franklin Farms Road) in North Franklin Township.
  • Route 3039 (Conger Road) in Morris Township. 

Shoulder repair:

  • Route 2030 (Washington Street) in Bentleyville Borough. 

Slide repair:

  • Route 88 (Highpoint Drive) in California Borough.
  • Route 2013 (Little Daniels Run Road) in North Bethlehem Township. 

Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the County.

PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern.  This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways.  The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623). 

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
