Northampton County: Update on Main Street Sinkhole in Palmer Township

There is a sinkhole on Main Street between Van Buren Road and PA 33. Work to fill the sinkhole began March 27. 

Initially all lanes were anticipated to open tomorrow, March 29, but inclement weather has extended the timeline.

Crews continue to pour concrete into the sinkhole. After the concrete is poured, they will place aggregate to make it level with the road in preparation for paving. 

The current estimate is for all lanes to be open on Monday, April 1 or Tuesday, April 2. 

Motorists are advised to use caution traveling through the area.
