Roundabout Construction to Close Reeceville Road Intersection, Restrict Route 82 (Manor Road) in West Brandywine Township

05/18/2023

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that roundabout construction will continue on Tuesday, June 6, under a project to improve travel and safety through the Route 82 (Manor Road) Intersection with Cedar Knoll Road/E. Reeceville Road in West Brandywine Township, Chester County.

Beginning Tuesday, June 6, through Thursday, October 5, E. Reeceville Road and Cedar Knoll Road will be closed and detoured 24/7 approaching the Route 82 (Manor Road) Intersection. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Bondsville Road, U.S. 322 (Horseshoe Pike) and Hibernia Road.

In addition, Route 82 (Manor Road) will be reduced to a single lane 24/7 through the Cedar Knoll Road/E. Reeceville Road Intersection beginning Tuesday, June 6, through Thursday, October 5. Route 82 (Manor Road) traffic through the intersection will be controlled with a temporary traffic signal.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through and near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under this safety improvement project, PennDOT’s contractor will construct a single-lane roundabout to enhance traffic flow through the intersection. The project will also include full-depth reconstruction of the existing intersection; a new storm sewer drainage system to improve the conveyance of runoff to downstream drainage swales; grading for future installation of sidewalks and crossings; and lighting will be installed for the roundabout.

The project aims to reduce overall crashes at the intersection; reduce vehicle speeds; and provide a safe and efficient intersection that will serve existing and future traffic.

Marino Corporation of Skippack, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on the $1.5 million project, which is financed with 100% federal funds. Construction on the project is expected to finish in spring 2024.
