Resurfacing Operations Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways in Delaware, Montgomery Counties

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing is scheduled on several state highways in Delaware and Montgomery counties, under several projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia Region.

The work schedules and locations are:
Delaware County

  • Wednesday, May 31, through Friday, June 2, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled at the Springfield Road and the Brookside Road Intersection in Springfield Township for inlet repair.

Montgomery County

  • Tuesday, May 30, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 23 (Valley Forge Road/Fourth Street/River Road/Front Street) between Geerdes Boulevard and Matsonford Road in Upper Merion Township and Bridgeport and West Conshohocken boroughs for milling and paving;
  • Tuesday, May 30, through Friday, June 2, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 23 (Valley Forge Road/Fourth Street/River Road/Front Street) between Geerdes Boulevard and Matsonford Road/Fayette Street in Upper Merion Township and Bridgeport and West Conshohocken boroughs for utility adjustments;
  • Wednesday, May 31, through Friday, June 2, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 23 (Valley Forge Road/Fourth Street/River Road/Front Street) between Geerdes Boulevard and Matsonford Road in Upper Merion Township and Bridgeport and West Conshohocken boroughs for milling and paving; and
  • Wednesday, May 31, through Friday, June 2, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Armand Hammer Boulevard between Industrial Highway and High Street in Pottstown Borough and Lower Pottsgrove Township for milling and paving.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these resurfacing projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surfaces and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
