PECO Utility Improvements Scheduled on Two State Highways in Chester, Delaware Counties

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that PECO Energy will be performing utility construction on two state highways in Chester and Delaware counties. 

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
  • Monday, July 31, through Monday, August 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Newtown Street Road will be closed and detoured weekdays between St. Davids Road and Sugartown Road in Easttown Township, Chester County, and Newtown Township, Delaware County. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Route 252 (Darby Paoli Road), Leopard Road, and Sugartown Road; and 
  • Monday, August 7, through Friday, September 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Route 252 (Providence Road) will be closed and detoured weekdays between Highland Avenue and Wallingford Avenue in Nether Providence Township, Delaware County. During the closure, passenger vehicles will be directed to use Baltimore Avenue, Manchester Avenue, and Wallingford Avenue. Large trucks will be directed to use Baltimore Pike, Route 320 (Cedar Lane), Swarthmore Avenue, and Route 320 (Chester Road). 
Local access will be maintained up to the work zones. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.  

PECO Energy will complete these projects under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
