PECO Utility Improvement Planned on Route 3 (Chestnut Street) in Philadelphia

08/21/2023

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that PECO Energy will be performing conduit installation on Route 3 (Chestnut Street) in Philadelphia.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
  • Monday, August 28, through Friday, September 15, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, Route 3 (Chestnut Street) will be closed weeknights between University Avenue and 36th Street. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use University Avenue, Route 3 (Market Street), and 36th Street.
Local access will be maintained up to the work zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

PECO Energy will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
