King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction activities will continue at night next week on Interstate 476 under two separate projects to improve travel and safety on the interstate, the associated on-and-off ramps and bridges in Delaware and Montgomery counties.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

• Sunday, December 3, through Thursday, December 7, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a single lane closure will be in place on various sections of northbound and southbound I-476 between the I-76 and I-95 interchanges for bridge deck repair, inlet top replacement and tree clearing operations;
  
• Monday, December 4, through Thursday, December 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled on the MacDade Boulevard between I-476 and Fairview Road for temporary median reconstruction; and
• Monday, December 11, and Tuesday, December 12, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, the northbound I-476 ramp to westbound MacDade Boulevard will be closed for temporary barrier removal. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use the northbound I-476 ramp to eastbound MacDade Boulevard, Fairview Road, and Route 320 (Chester Road).
  

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because significant backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The bridge deck repair, inlet top replacement and tree clearing operations are part of a $63.7 million project to resurface, repair and improve nearly 17 miles of the interstate from Interstate 76 (Schuylkill Expressway) in West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County, to Interstate 95 in Ridley Township, Delaware County.

The barrier removal and temporary median reconstruction are part of a $16.2 million project to improve travel and safety on MacDade Boulevard and at the northbound I-476 and MacDade Boulevard Interchange in Ridley Township.
