Construction Continues Next Week on U.S. 422 Under Two Improvement Projects in Montgomery County

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction will occur next week on U.S. 422 under two separate improvement projects in Montgomery County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

  • Monday, December 11, through Thursday, December 14, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a single lane closure will be in place on eastbound U.S. 422 between the Oaks (Egypt Road) and Bridgeport/Valley Forge (Route 23) interchanges in Upper Providence and Lower Providence townships for sawcutting and joint sealing operations;
  • Monday, December 11, through Friday, December 15, from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a single lane closure will be in place on westbound U.S. 422 between Evergreen Road and Armand Hammer Boulevard in Lower Pottsgrove Township for temporary barrier installation, clearing and grubbing operations; and
  • Monday, December 11, through Friday, December 15, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, a single lane closure will be in place on eastbound U.S. 422 between Armand Hammer Boulevard and Evergreen Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township for temporary barrier installation, clearing and grubbing operations. 

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The sawcutting and joint sealing are part of a $6.9 million project to rehabilitate pavement between the Route 29/Phoenixville and Route 363/Trooper Road interchanges.

The barrier installation, clearing and grubbing are part of an $83.6 million project to reconstruct and improve approximately 1.7 miles of the expressway and replace two bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road.
